Ryan Seacrest’s empire will outlast ‘American Idol.’ Why? Because unlike most celebrities, he built it by staying out of the spotlight, deflecting attention onto those around him. In a world where hosts who hog the limelight are a dime a dozen, Seacrest’s ‘everyman’ persona sets him apart from the herd. Plus, even without Idol, he’ll stick be raking in a cool 50 million a year. Not too shabby, Ryan.
