Is EDM dying? Deadmau5 predicted a death sentence for EDM and swore off music festivals. According to him, the festivals have become bigger than the acts. Festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival, TomorrowWorld, and Ultra are generating huge crowds that make the concert experience impersonal and commercialized. Same goes for the recent Governor’s Ball festival, where a crowd of over 55,000 made it hard for fans to even hear the music. So now, music lovers are gravitating towards smaller weekend festivals where the focus is on the music itself.
